Remarkably illustrated, gilt edged and embellished leather bible. Slight wear to leather & corners but overall well preserved. Condition is very good for a book of this age, the covers have good gold. Measures 12 1/4″x10″, weighs 8 1/2 lbs. This family bible belonged to Tho’s Satterley as noted on the front board who I believe was the 2nd mining captain of the Central Mining Company in Keweenaw County, Michigan. He was born in Devonshire, England in 1838. He was brought up a miner and came to America in 1856 direct to Lake Superior. I was unable to upload all of the pics but I can send them to all interested parties. See e-bay listing.
